About our Show

To Home Page

The magic lantern we generally use was built in1890 and is brass and mahogany.

We show original glass slides, most of which are over 100 years old. Many are old photographs but several are hand painted.

The shows have several themes such as 'Old Sussex', 'Transport and travels', or our ever popular Christmas show

The shows are usually in two halves of about 45 - 50 minutes each . We use all kinds of music and songs and err on the side of humour.

Our audiences have a wide age range. Jenny  is possibly our biggest fan, Her mum first brought her to see a show when she was six years old and her favourite then (and still is at the ripe old age of eight) "The one where Mr Punch kills everybody". At the other end of the scale we've had several older folks who remember lantern shows the first time round i.e. 60-70 years ago!
